Last week I went to a nearby casino with some people to eat at a buffet. The buffet was supposed to be pretty decent and $25 for all the food you can eat seemed reasonable.
We went to the casino and ended up getting our meals comped thanks to someone in our party who had been to the casino before a few times. Apparently all you have to do is ask and they will give you a free meal for a bunch of people! It saved us over $100 that night and I’m grateful we had someone who gambled in the group.
I’ve never been much of a gambler despite being around it often. I have friends that go to casinos, play slot machines, buy lottery tickets, and gamble online at PartyBingo.com. Despite all my friends and even family who love to take a risk with their money – I just can’t do it.
I know the thrill of gambling – it’s actually quite fun. Playing slot machines is great. Playing poker online is super fun. Buying a scratch lottery ticket is a good moment of fun. But that thrill never lives up to the fact that I’ve lost $5 or $10 or $50 in just a few minutes of my time. The entertainment I receive from the gambling is just not worth the money I have to fork over if I lose.
Speaking of online poker and gambling – did you know states are trying to legalize it now? I remember a few years ago when my friends were all really into playing online poker it was an additional gamble because it wasn’t legal in our state. Now legalized online gambling is spreading after Nevada started the trend. New Jersey will be next and who knows after that happens.
I probably won’t be participating in the online poker games but it’s interesting to have the options. I’m 1000 times more likely to play online than in a real casino.
What about you? Are you a gambler? Do you enjoy a game of poker online or off? Do you like casinos?

I have only gambled a few times, (Atlantic City, Reno, Las Vegas & Bahamas). I would much rather take business risks, a different kind of gamble!
I’ve only been to casinos a few times, but my gambling limit for each visit is $100. I try to look around and focus on the whole experience of the area, not just gambling. I’m too cheap and too scared to gamble more than $100.
I`m definitely not a gambler. I learned to play poker last summer, and I was actually good at it, but we never bet money, it was just a game, and I doubt I`d be just as good if it`d be about money.
